Georgia Southern celebrates Homecoming with a week full of events.
Homecoming is a tradition started in the early 1900s with campus outings and an Eagles football game finishing out the week.
This year’s Homecoming Week began with the Block Party, which included a petting zoo, foam block pit and custom merch station. With the theme being Built to Soar, a theme based on the popular toy, Lego.
Returning to Sweetheart Circle, the Homecoming Parade brought University departments like Campus Recreation and Intramurals and the Henderson Library together.
The parade also gave students a look into the Homecoming court. The Greek life organizations on campus partnered together to design a float and promote their respective candidates. Georgia Southern students are able to vote for Homecoming King and Queen along with the Duke and Duchess and Mr. And Miss Freshman.
